Dear all I know it could get a bit boring if we all posted our favourite books to the list but as I am missing Bowlie in order to sit english literature exams, please excuse me. He might be difficult to get hold of but I really think that all B+S fans would love Henry Green novels. He's a bit of an experimental modernist blokey, writes with a blatant disregard for minor details like pronouns and articles. He also reproduces dialect with uncanny accuracy. Anyway his novels tend to be big ensemble pieces with lots of love affairs and deception and pretty birds flying about all over the shop. He's dead cinematic and he tells stories about the little people. I would recommend 'Living' which is set in a factory community in Birmingham, but 'Loving' is good and 'Party Going' is infuriating/hilarious, all about a group of people about to get on a train and an old woman with a dead pigeon. I feel I have not made them sound very glamourous. love pamela xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -- xx xx ------------------------------------------------------------ x x x glampam says - 'thank-you for your time' - Look!!
