Sinister: suited and booted
mornin' As mentioned by listees less tardy than myself, Blue Soda last Friday was on top form, with Mr. Leonard's performance being bold and heartfelt. Tim and Mike's encore nearly brought a tear to the eye as well, and not in a pain kind of way. Jeep(st)ers, Creepers - the sinister brethern are a extremely gifted lot. I interviewed Jake and Dan from My Life Story last Saturday which was good, although I had to sign an agreement that I would not publish or tell anyone anything about it until April 21st. Apparantly they're worried about the NME getting hold of news of the internet. I can see their point, but really this is My Life Story...I think they'll be lucky if the NME print anything non-derogatory about them...ever. I will say that they are signed to IT records, a lable funded by Andrew Lloyd Webber after being dropped by Paralophone whom they owed bout 500,000 pounds to, and they have changed direction a bit...(these aren't new facts, but they were clarified during the interview). At the Blue Soda a few of us had the idea for T-Shirts or badges (or whatever) for the sinister devotees going to Camber sands, as something to identify each other by, as well as a keepsake. I have no idea on how to go about doing these, and am not sure if I want to be the one doing the organising (I'm working on Papercuts#2, you realise) but how about these slogans for starters: P!O!P! Sinister Sands/Sinister at the Sands I've been to Bowlie too* Sun, Sex, Sand and Sinister Just another modern rock badge Sinister: Steps Tragedy Up yours Waterman! (* Probably only funny to Australians [and then only slightly] who remember the Redgum song "I've been to Bali too") Au Revoir Caleb /-(^)-----------------------------------------------------------(^)-----\ | Chester Indie Zine http://www.darkshadow.com/chester | | UKindiePOPdance editor@chester.org.au | | New interviews: Jack, Lucksmiths, Underground Lovers + Pictures! | \-(v)-----------------------------------------------------------(v)-----/ +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net". Yes, that's a very very good idea!!! There could be slogans on our tee-shirts, but there could be also a picture, something more or less related to computers and Belle and Sebastian... I'm sure some of you could draw a nice and pop picture, then scan it and put it on a website (we could put it on mine, if you want :-), everyone would download the picture, then put it on their own t-shirt. I have no idea of what it could be, maybe something that would look like Laura's pictures on Honey site... It could even be simpler to use one of her drawings, provided she's ok, of course. We could organize sort of contest and the best picture would be eventually chosen after a vote... What do you think? As far as slogans are concerned, these are the ones I prefer:
P!O!P! Sun, Sex, Sand and Sinister Sinister: Steps Tragedy
Looking forward for the Camber Sands Festival...
