Sinister: Postcard from the Netherlands...
Well I may not have been to Sweden for a week, but I did spend the weekend in Eindhoven. A coachload of students from all over the country, going to a korfball tournament / 3-day long party. And it was a ridiculously good weekend, so this picnic's going to have to be very good to beat it... I'm sure you don't all want to hear everything that happened (and I'm too embarassed by some of it to tell you...) but there was one thing that got me thinking. I was at the party with the Edinburgh University team on the first night there, got a bit (?) drunk, and lost my jeans (and very nearly my underwear as well actually!). Before any of you get the wrong impression of me, I didn't pull them down myself, someone else did it, after I lost a drinking game... But anyway, one of the other people saw me and said "That's not the kind of behaviour you expect from someone in a Belle and Sebastian T-Shirt." I'm not quite sure what he did expect, maybe for all B&S fans to be really quiet and sober at all times or something. It's like, only twee people can listen to twee music, and anyone who does anything raucous must listen to raucous music. Does anyone out there actually fit the B&S stereotype all day, every day? I don't think anyone I've met does. I mean, sure, the music you listen to must reflect your personality to some extent, but not that much surely? Most people's personality changes depending on the situation anyway. Anyway, I'd better stop babbling before you all get bored of me (what do you mean, you already have?). Hope to see y'all on Monday! Stuart G ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . This message was brought to you by the Sinister mailing list. .
