Re: Sinister: Belle And Sebastian on the radio
still, those were the days when people took any notice of the man: nobody bothers now, and i can't really say i blame them - he hasn't done anything worthwhile for ages now. but do you remember any of the other bands he memtioned?
Woodentops, James, Easterhouse, Suede... Think that's all I can remember Suede did OK I suppose, but then, it's easy to see why, there's no great *curse* involved, it''s just that all the other bands were crap. woodentops, as already noted, made some truly great records... ditto James in the early period. 'what's the world' was truly astonishing. easterhouse did one ace single 'coming up for air' and then got a bit sludgy. suede were always iredeemably bad. opinions opinions... duke. -- Tangents On-Line http://www.virtual-pc.com/tangent/ Tangents On-Paper: PO Box 102, Exeter, EX2 4YL, UK tangent@mail.zynet.co.uk ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Now there's Travis, who are admittedly a little dull, Elka, who are OK.However I've got to disagree on James. The early albums, esp. Stutter, where very good. It's just recently they've gotten kind of lame. The Primitives, likewise, had some cracking pop songs. Robert
