Does anyone else fear that B & S is so good that something must be wrong?

I thought that when I heard the Black Sessions which is just so awesome it's unbelieveable ...

lesson: always beware! if i like an album instantly and the songs are catchy right off the mark, i'll probably learn to despise it very quickly. many excellent records are 'difficult' and take a few spins to work their magic.

Partly I agree. Actually I only don't agree cos I seem to be a person who instantly likes songs others find hard to get into whereas catchy and popular songs often (not always exceptions are there of course) put me off ... and most catchy songs I didn get into in an instant I hate now (apart from Belle and Sebastian, Pulp and ones by any other band I adore) Anyway people keep telling me I am weird for that ....

and who knows? - maybe one day 'the gate' will be heralded as a classic. you know, one of those songs enclosed in a wee capsule on the moon...

I still haven't heard it. I'll be in Vienna over New Year though and hope to find it (Hint!!! hint!!! in case I haven't posted my meetup shoutout ...if anyone happens to be in Vienna that day mail me privately, thanx) Actually not being ablke to get records is such a pain really ... I am soi fed up with asking asking asking ...in an ideal world all the stuff I love would be freely availabble ..then again it would be half the fun if everyone knew about it ....
