Just if anyone's interested, I know someone who is willing to part with a copy of Tigermilk.
I bet it's Richard who has to sell his copy because "old man Murdoch won't give us a raise". Just a guess. And one of these days, I'm going to go to the archives and see if Karen David has actually ever sent anything in from the Belle and Sebastian address. I mean, it does have her name on it...
so is that stu david singing on paper boat?? it is seventies. ech i mean they're not horrible, but...... I only like lord anthony cos it's about a snot-nosed boy who gets beat up
I didn't mind Paper Boat. It's just a silly pop song, but I'd love to see it played live again, just to see Stuart playing the trumpet again. "Lord Anthony", I'll fight to the death over. I don't think Stuart's written many more gorgeous moments than the bit when he sings "When will you realize it doesn't pay to be smarter than teachers, smarter than most boys". And the "You'll soon be old enough..." bit sounds like a combination between Queen and a missing James Bond theme. But that's the way it strikes me. I can't wait until it's given a proper recording. Even if Mick hates it with "the passion of a thousand suns". Okay, so maybe he didn't say that, but it was pretty well implied :) So no one's stirring on the three-track single issue. I'm very impressed with how calmly some people have taken this news. Not a peep of "Oh, so they're going for the charts now, huh?! So maybe I'll start a fight by bringing it up. I wonder what I'd say... ~Reid +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
