Now hang your head in shame. Recently I learned that Miss Honey has a brother who used to cheat at Monopoly when they were younger. Which is something normal for children, but is still quite thoughtless to a developing mind. Poor Miss Honey has been scarred for life because of this and cannot ever live on a street with all green houses, nor push a wheel barrow with an iron in it while wearing a top hat. So tragic. I decided to take it upon myself to rough up Miss Honey's brother and lock him in a dumpster for a few days as punishment. Unfortunately at the time of the confrontation Miss Honey's sibling presented the all powerful "Get Out of Jail Free" card which, naturally, had to be respected. (but not before he stepped in some really smelly fresh dog poo, and he was wearing shoes with a deep tread so he will have to dig it out with a pencil) This has left me in possession of a "Get Out of Jail Free" card and a bit of unreleased aggression. I am going to rough you lot up and throw you in the dumpster as punishment. I am submitting the "Get Out of Jail Free" card. Right now there are 1211 members on the Sinister Mailing list. This post is written every single one of those 1211 and you are to take this personally. Please don't skip ahead because questions will be asked at the end of it. For those who are mathematically challenged, I am including myself in the 1211. You are an asshole. Through your thoughtless behaviour you have caused someone to feel bad and you have insinuated to them that they don't matter. You have hurt their feelings deeply and you have compounded it by not even caring to notice. Before you disagree with me you must realize that I am talking about behaviour which is an action or an inaction that has a negative impact on someone else and you don't realize its impact. A really good example of thoughtless behaviour is drinking and driving. I really hope that nobody on the list is stupid and thoughtless enough to do that. When alcohol and cars are combined eventually someone will end up dying. The dead don't care, they are dead. The living do and that is why people get sad and cry at funerals. Worse than killing someone is maiming them for life. Since this list is a B&S list, this subject is entirely on topic. In case you haven't been paying attention, many of their songs are about people treating others poorly. An apology is like a Band-Aid. It acknowledges the wound and helps make it heal, but it does not make it heal, only time can do that. But apologies lose their value if they are not sincere or if they do not result in a change in behaviour. How really sorry can you be if you keep doing the same things over again. Rather than point out specific incidents, or pull examples from the list or discuss the things that we can do to change our own behaviour and make a difference. I'll leave you to figure it out for yourself. You can decide how much of a selfish asshole you want to be. Although there are many clichés saying "what goes around comes around" and similar expressions, that is indeed very true and I have seen it many times, such with the individual who decided to participate with a nutso woman in making my life difficult last year by doing some things like making false accusations to the police and my employer which wear easily proven to be false. He ended up contracting flesh eating disease on his chest last September, he was an asshole to lots of people. Start thinking about how you are making people feel. On Monday I asked 7 listees who had initiated corresponded with me if I could ask a favour. The favour was to borrow their Crush vote until this weekend at which time I would ask them to move it somewhere else. I indicated that I would be posting to the list tonight and I wanted to demonstrate a point regarding thoughtless behaviour. I also indicated that they could choose not to participate and I would not take offence. I received four replies saying yes, and three e-mails went unanswered. At the time of writing I have 3 votes. I will allow you to draw any conclusions you would like, but bear in mind that you are not to draw conclusions about the individual participants, look at it as a play. I would like to thank the individuals who participated and those who have voted for me to vote for someone else per below. Since I have given you the "Get Out of Jail Free" card you may use it. Monday is Valentine's Day. You may want to rant and rave about it being set up by the greeting card companies but the truth is that humans have been celebrating love in different ways since we first started sniffing up stream. You can celebrate Christmas, birthdays and all those special days but the one day that everyone freaks about is Valentine's Day. Save the denial shit, I know better. This is the day when you want to feel that you matter. This is also the day when you get to tell other people that they matter. There are about 75 votes cast on the Crush list. That is 0.06% have elected to to tell someone on the list that they matter. Basically, you get until Monday morning to tell someone that they matter. If you don't vote for someone on the list so that on Valentine's Day someone wakes up to see that they matter, then you are telling everyone on the list as well as yourself that you are a thoughtless asshole. Don't not vote to spite me and don't leave your vote to someone else. The only way you get out of this is if you don't get this until after Monday. If you don't get a vote on Monday morning, it doesn't mean that you don't matter because the change from 0.06% will tell you whether you matter or not, you only matter if you vote. And nobody is allowed to vote for me because I want you to tell other people they matter, nor should everyone vote for the same people over and over again. If you have already voted for someone then you have to move your vote to someone else. To those who will be losing a vote as a result of this then you will know that the person who voted for you is not a thoughtless asshole. You can return your votes on Tuesday.
