Yes, I think that's where they were from. They had a song
called Whistling in the Dark, about the miners' strike, so
they might have been loony lefties like The Style Council
and The Redskins, who also had cracking songs about or
inspired by the miners' strike.
[Hopkins T]  Easterhouse were, in my humble _not very good_.
	I seem to remember that they were supporters of the
Revolutionary Communist Party, who were, indeed, revolutionary
communists of a sort. The sort whose membership is primarily students
and who charge very large fees for the privelige of being a mamber of
their organisation. Malcolm Eden, singer in the late, lamented McCarthy
was also once a member of that particular 'party', choosing to leave to
pursue his pop activities because he reckoned that McCarthy would be
more effective way to wreak havoc on the establishment, or somesuch. Did
he make the right decision, kids? You decide.
	The Redskins, on the other hand, were members of the Socialist
Workers Party, sworn enemies of the RCP. Does it make any difference,
kids? You decide.
	I remember, back in the mid-eighties, Steven Wells (SWP)
devoting a huge chunk of an NME singles review column to the Redskins,
going on about how fantastic it was that folks were putting politics
into music, then giving Easterhouse a very dismissive couple of words.
	Paul Weller was, by the time of the Miners' Strike, full on for
the Labour Party and loved by all. Shame that that Paul died and was
relaced by an evil machine bent on taking over the world by boring us
all to death.
