Sinister: Go!, Raves and New Order
The DC rave scene is similar to that portrayed in the movie Go! -- but there seems to be a backlash of old 'skool' vs. the new kids on the rave block. It seems like these old skoolers think that the new kids are making the scene too mainstream, of course these same old skoolers were only 13 or 14 when Ibiza busted wide open in the famed 'summer of love'. I just saw Moby last week at one of these 'Raves'; his new album is not bad, very different from his last few albums. I just ran across some New Order real audios that purport to be Peel Session Master tapes from 1998, what's this about? Was there a Peel Sessions released? FYI, MakeUp are very interesting, though they've gone soft. Nation of Ulysses 13 point plan to destroy america ranks up there as one of the more 'up' albums. Later poptarts... Sam
Kino Korner - Our Wumpkinny and I went to see "Go" the other day and it was really rather good. But are American raves really like that? They seemed almost....dare I say it...twee. Maybe this will inspire massed narcotic necking at the masterfully arranged "Sinisters are doing it for themselves" events this weekend. I do hope so. Picture the scene, if you will.
Jasper Buckaroo: Are you on one, matey? Wupert: Fanx geezer, I'm sorted. Tamara: Nish. Lucinda: Clish. (DJ Flopsy Bunny seemlessly segues "Emma's House" into "I'm in love with a girl who doesn't know I exist") Sensitive Stan: CHOOOOOOON!!!
Maybe not.
