hello sinister, now this is nothing very newsworthy at all, but I'd just like to say how very excited I am about pushbarman. strangely for a collection of songs that seems to be about lonely anorexics and I'm surely wildly wrong here, but in string bean jean stuart does sing about how she's wearing the jeans of a twelve year old, doesnt he? anyhow, my point being that despite subject matter, as ever with b&s, this collection is just sooooo ace. as someone said to me last night, it should have been called 'greatest hits'. now I dont totally agree, but there is a smidgen of truth in that I think the songs on those eps are hugely impressive, and grow on you like only tiger milk ever has. I certainly wasnt there at the start and only heard songs like legal man and 3,6,9 etc when ex boy was about to leave. rifling through his extensive b&s collection at the last minute, I got so hooked on the early eps, that doing evil things like swopping the contents of (my) kings of convenience remix sleeve with (his) dog on wheels seemed ok.... . lordy. fingers crossed he's not tried to get them out in a while, but the early stuff really is that unfeasibly good. anyhow, welcome to all the lovely new members out there. I'm a lurker, and probably won't show my face again for another two years, and rightly so, but if there are any uk mancunian sinisterings out there, give me a shout, and just cos today was such a brilliantly lovely day here, a picnic would make sense. (today that is, now, I can promise nothing when it starts pissing all my parade once again in the morning.) plus, I'm really sorry cos this is kind of tenuous, but I'm going to vancouver for a week 18 - 25 th may, and am looking for anyone who lives there who a. might like b&s too. b. might know if there are any exciting bands playing that week. c. might like to meet me for coffee. ruthx +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
