I agree with Nick that "On Stage Tonight - Baldry's Out!" looks like the best bet for hot "I'd rather Go Blind" action. BUT! won't it have Rod Stewart on vocals? Jean Knight does it too, along with "My Toot Toot". While I was searching for these treats I came across that Brian Wilson tribute album featuring the entire population of Glasgow, and thought I was one step ahead of the pack when I saw Stevie Jackson on it, but a quick search of the archives shows me to be hopelessly out of date. But I do know where the song comes from, sort of. It was on a bootleg with a picture of an indian on the front. And I think there was a version by Spring, or American Spring or whatever. It features a reference to falsies, which I hope Stevie has kept in. Is the organ Beans-driven? Is the album any good? I picked it up to have a look at it the other day, but I was so disgusted by the presence of Eugene Kelly that I put it down again before I got to Stevie. I've got a Northern Soul book, so watch out!
