Now here's something pretty impressive: I've played b&s so much at work now that it gave a co-worker a belle & sebastian dream! He tells me that in his dream he was at their concert - which was being held in a strip mall of all places - and it got raided by the gestapo and everyone was rioting. Hmm...somehow I just can't imagine the music of our dear beloved invoking concert-goers to start a riot, but it WAS only a dream... And maybe this is just on my copy of Tigermilk, but does anyone else happen to hear a zipper being zipped at the beginning of "expectations"? A fellow listee said she did, but her tape is a copy of mine, so that doesn't help much. Sorry if this has been brought up before - I checked the archives first! I really did! the only zipper reference was for Squirrel Nut Zippers. If it is a zipper though, it certainly does make the song more interesting. I can just imagine the main character in the song putting on a jacket and heading out the door before being harangued by her mom. Anyone with a vinyl copy willing to verify/falsify this?
