hmmm....... common sense tells me that i should just keep my mouth shut.... but as i have always been one to fly by the seat of my pants..... there is something i need to get off my chest.... the above subject bar really bothers me..... who would find "Joy!" in something like that?..... sure, i know that a lot of the 'kidnapping' and 'killing' of Bel is all done in jest.... but i don't find it funny..... i don't want to step out of my bounds here, but i am friends with Bel.... i know her to be a very nice girl and someone i would not wish bad things to happen to for any reason.... why do people feel the need to discuss the Belle's in personal terms anyway? does anyone on this list actaully know Isobel, or Stuart or Mick? (and yes, i know there are some, but the people i know who know them don't post fantasies about them.... please don't think me ignorant of the fact that the Belle's have quite a few friends on the Sinsinter list..... but, please bear with me, i have a point here somewhere.... if i can just find it....) it doesn't matter if Stuart is nice or a total asshole, he makes great music... for all you know Bel gives Mary (of Something About Mary) a run for her money in the kindness department.... my point is, why does this matter? have we run dry of our creative resources that we are now resorting to bashing members of B&S in jest? hm..... doens't that kind of negate the purpose of this List? what kills me the most, and is ironic in a comical way.... is that so many people on this list dream of meeting Stuart, they go on about how he is perfect and whatever..... then they plot Bel's untimely demise.... hello? Stuart is a friend of Bel's, don't you think he might take offense at some of what gets said? .... if you think i am over reacting, put her name in the search engine and alot of what you find is negative and potentially hurtful.... why? my mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all..... no one writes about Chris or Stevie being kidnapped or strangled to death by a pair of polyester flairs.... all the jesting is left for Bel..... what really amuses me is when people drone on about her music.... why? the person who started the band that is the VERY reason behind this mailing list is the person who helped start her music career down the path it is travelling... Stuart plays on her solo albums and is obviously very supportive of Bel and her music... so who are we to judge the way some of do? .... would you be willing to say that to her face or Stuarts? this is the internet and anyone is free to search the archives.... wouldn't the person who writes nasty things about Bel feel like a arse if they ever met one of the Belle's and that Belle remembered what the listee had said about someone else in their own band? i would bet $100 that if anyone on this list had the chance to meet Bel, they'd walk right up, introduce themselves as a big fan and not even mention negative comments they've posted, even if it was in jest..... i don't mean to harp on this nor am i trying to pick on anyone.... and i am not trying to preach, i usually only take the moral high ground on Sundays.... today i have made an exception... ha ha ha the point is, for a bunch of twee fuckers we can be pretty nasty with our words when we want to be.... me included... and shouldn't this be a forum for good feelings and nice words? the rest of the pop world does enough B&S bashing, i don't think it should go on here.... i know that people will do what they want, and i am in NO way trying to tell people what to post.... i just wonder if people realize that what they post about someone will probably be read by that person or a friend of that person... basically, i like being on the list, despite the whole Select quoting fiasco... bastards.... but i don't like reading posts that are negative about Bel and only Bel...write a story about how they all die from inhaling too much corduroy lint... fine... but don't sinlge one person out...
