Some things I like about Belle and Sebastian. I just love the part at the end of 'There's Too Much Love' where, behind the strings, you hear the faint vocal harmonies. Fucking brilliant, in my opinion. I also like the drum crashes just before the bridge(s) in the maligned Dirty Dream #2. Stuart's singing is something to listen closely to in this song. Well, pretty much in every song, that is. I liked Pink Floyd when I was in college and was still naive about a lot of music. Later on, I realized that Pink Floyd is pretty tuneless. I can't stand Pink FLoyd. I will give them credit for making the most out of limited melodies, though. Maybe all this is why I think they make childish music. As far as Belle & Sebastian production techniques are concerned... I always order twist ice cream cones instead of all chocolate or all vanilla. This is why I like the new album as much as I do. When friend Greg gets here I'm of to the Phish concert.
