Sinister: climb into my twee box...
hullo all.. I figure I've been on this list quite long enough without making a squeek, and since the fashionable thing at the time seems to be everyone having their firsts I thought I'd throw my two cents in. I must say I think I'm falling in love with Brandt, who shares my sniffles and odd mid-western past. I used to live in Chicago some time ago (I used to think it was the back room of the earth), and though I never thought much of it I'm thinking of moving back to room with a friend of mine who goes to college there. The same friend is coming here (nyc) tonight, and tomorrow I'm dragging her down to DC with me to see the magnetic fields.. even if she's no idea who Stephin Merrit is. Which leads me to the off subject question, is anyone else on the list going to the concert tomorrow? I suppose I should throw in some B&S content here somewhere.. What do you think is the best belle and sebby music for airporting? Or any sort of music for that matter? I've always liked airports for some reason, and belle and sebastian seems to go very well with that whole mod-airport theme. Is this just me? I think I'll sit down and be quiet now.. sigh.. I am not sarah or leyla it seems. And I have the sniffles from the unusally cold mid-westernesque weather we've been having here. People in new york seem awfully scared of snow.. ;) I'm off to the airport now. That wasn't so bad, was it? love and boxes, Katie +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@missprint.org". no, sorry, this post is not about deadwood divine, although is album is pretty good. it's like acoustic emo, which is rather strange. MOOKITTEN i will withhold from praising your wonderfully silly name for now and first say that my favorite b+s record for airport listening is 3...6...9... second of light, because that's what i was listening to for the first time as my airplane pulled away from the girl i was in love with. sad, cliche, but still true. yeah, it makes me want to cry. STEPHIN FERRET i just got finished listening to the last disc of 69 love songs by the magnetic fields about five minutes ago... it's brilliant, brilliant! i'm so glad that i got ahold of the boxed set instead of buying them separately... it comes with this lovely full-color interview booklet... and you get to listen to them all at once, instead of in little bits. my favorite tracks that i can remember so far are 'reno dakota' ("reno dakota there's not an iota of kindness in you...") and 'acoustic guitar', which i really would like tab to except that it hasn't been posted yet. i'm sorry that i'm not as twee as usual right now but it's rather late and i'm not really in the mood. i should go write some e-mail to a friend now who asked me to, but first i'm going to go see if there's some dirty movies on tv. goodnight, dears! *kiss* - adam aconover@optonline.net Tempus Fugit is at: http://www.i2.i-2000.com/~conover/tempus/main.html +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@missprint.org".
