Hate to tell you about this, but you will know in a day or so anyway... I was one of those lucky few who lost some feeling when I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago. It was generally a hellish experience. First, I was alergic to the perkoset they gave me for the pain, so on top of being swollen, bleeding, with a mouth packed with gauze, I was also nausious. Then, after a day or so, I started eating again, and was surprised to find my tounge bleeding, as I had been biting it, and had not felt anything. So, back to the doctor for tests and such. Basically, he grabbed the tip of my tounge with gauze wrapped fingers, yanked it out of my mouth, and started poking it with sharp things. I was to cry out when it hurt. Only it didn't hurt much. Turns out I had lost much sensation on one half of my tounge. Doctor said that most would come back, sometime within a year, and thankfully, some did. It still gets alittle wierd now and then, but it functions normally still... It is right around then that I got into the Magnetic Fields, one of the best lyricists ever, if I must say. I remember rinsing my mouth with salt water to, "All the Umbrellas in London".
