Sinister: In a 10 Roddington Lonely Place
I wonder if B&S will be doing cover versions when they tour again? I'd love to see Isobel perform Fela Kuti onstage. I bet Mad Dog Murdoch would too. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the cause of all that guitar smashing business in Dublin. Mind you, it wouldn't be the same without Stuart David looking on. I've been trying to think of other bobble-hatted bass players. The only one I can remember is KEITH from groovy train travelling all together now love sees no colour Liverpudlians The Farm. This afternoon I watched Leicester Tigers on Frenchie telly. Imagine my partial surprise to see my old schoolmate "Dozzer" knocking seven bells of shit out of the opponents. I was quite impressed, he seems to have matured over the fifteen years or so since I last saw him. I think he's a policeman now. I've also been keeping a close eye on the Big Country bulletin board on their website. Relax kids, the inventor of bagpipe guitars is safe and well. Hooray! Their former bus driver still seems very bitter for getting the sack for saying U2 were better than Big Country though. The rest of the fans are like Numanoids in lumberjack shirts. I like Stuart Adamson for those echoing "SHOUT-OUT-OUT-OUT!"s on their early 12 inch records. They were undoubtedly a precursor of the hallucinatory dub effects made popular by King Tubby ten years earlier. I think I'm going to go and put a message of support on their bulletin board. Mr Beaker, how did you teach Oon to swim? By chucking her in the water and then sticking a betting slip on the end of a fishing rod and dangling it just out of reach? Did she have a flutter on that elephants' football match? And is she back on the list? The list without Oon is like a meal without cheese. Hi everyone, well now seems as good a time as any to introduce myself especially seeing as I'm full of vodka and bravado. You see the thing is I've had quite possibly the best night out in at least 5 months and it's all thanks to Belle and Sebastian. Honest. So there we were, myself and my three best friends and it's Saturday evening and we're stuck for somewhere to go, since two of us don't want to go into town and we couldn't go to the local (for reason's to complex and boring to go into here). So anyway, we were stuck for somewhere to go and I was sitting at home listening to IYFS, when Fox in the snow came on, now in the local village there's a pub called the Foxes Covet and the song made me think of it....so to cut a long story short ended up there and as I've already said it was great. I meet two of my best friends from college, there was brilliant 'drunk music' ie The Proclaimers and The Jackson five, perfect for dancing when innebriated and to top it all off I kissed a girl who looked a lot like Sarah Whatsherface from Dubstar AND she asked for my number. Although I'll probably never hear from her again, at least right now at this exact moment, there's a chance she'll call me tomorrow and ask me to meet her again. Anyway I suppose I should go to bed now, it's a really nice night for sleeping too. It's very windy outside and I just love nights when you're lying in bed all warm and snuggled and outside the wind is howling and the rain is bashing off the windows - just like tonight. Night all, Rob P.S. Just read back over what I typed, I promise that when I post again it'll be more interesting. Honest. +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
