Sinister: Dick? Slap?
Hello I thought I'd poke my head in for a few thoughts on Legal Man. Well, reading all the comments on the list, from the glowing to the glowering, I think that in a way, I agree with all of them. Legal Man itself is okay, although off the single I like JIADS better, and Winter Wooskie's okay too, but it's all a little too, well, orchestrated. I don't think that B+S would be better if they couldn't play their instruments or anything like that, but when I used to be in a brass band, our conductor always used to tell us to imagine we were playing a piece for the first time, and Legal Man sounds like it's being played for the last time in a long day, when the whole band would rather go down the chip shop. Judy Is A Dick Slap is good, though, lots of synthesisers. But Legal Man is a little self conscious. Get out of the office? I think B+S should get out of the studio and back into the church hall. From the sleeve, it looks like The Loneliness Of A Middle Distance Runner will be the next single, and I love this song to bits, so I hope it's a good recording. A girl outside my window has just had her umbrella blown inside out. It's raining, but I have to go to my exam.
