Sinister: James Dean Driving School
'lo all, my first post, and, well, ill just get to the heart of it Vicki- James Dean Driving Experience i bought a compilation from el records a few months ago that has "Sean Connery" from JDDE on it. The one song sounds pretty good, hmm cant think of an example... maybe "Smiths-ish"? No not even, sort of catchy though, and by far the best on the album. Please, DO NOT buy an el record w/o hearing it first, b/c the rest of the tracks on the comp "Bellissimo!" are horrid and terrible and all around unpleasant (the Would-Be-Goods and the Kings of Luxembourg are particularly distressing to experience). I dropped 18 on this import cd on blind faith and the thought of it still makes me cringe. oh well, not to be too judgemental or anything, it is a b-sides album... sorry enough drivel, modernlove i put "Precise Modern Lovers Order" back in my CD carry case and have again fallen in love. Very rough, varying recording quality, but one of the best live albums ever. b&s the other day was hot, humid and just nasty here in Wash DC, but Stars of Track n Field led me to this image of running really fast and productively, which made my own sweat and discomfort a bit more bearable. yes, yes im sorry this is a weak, barely B&S-related email, but i wanted to reply about the JDDE take care all Colin +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org. hello everyone. this is my first post. i'm on the list the last two months but i never felt like writing until i read this post below.. Well, it's actually a matter of taste, yet I have to totally disagree with colin's review on the "bellissimo" comp. The JJDE song is indeed wonderful.. sounds like housemartins to me. Apart from this, the compilation includes at least 4 more lovely tunes, such as the delightful and sunny "the camera loves me" by the would-be-goods, an ambassador 277 song (reminds me of the pale fountains) or the amazing "guess i'm dumb"..louis phillipe's cover of some beach boys song. As for the other songs, they're rather good (bad dream fancy dress are a bit annoying though). ok and now a small introduction. I'm giannis, 22 years old, living in crete, greece and studying computers. aghh nothing much to say, I'm afraid. take care all cheers On Thu, 1 Jun 2000 Cjmonty@aol.com wrote:
