well hello, i must say i'm a little miffed to note that no one has mentioned a certain perry como's death. shame on you indie kids! you should all be sewing black arm bands on your cardigans......it's the least you could do. you owe such fashion to this crooner of happy memory. well, him and arnold palmer anyway. do any of you remember that creepy show mastermind? i have only vague memories of it as i was a diminuitive young thing when i first took to watching bbc filler on pbs (yay buffalo (and now toronto) pbs - you've got nothing on erie county!). anyway, i do remember a bunch of tweed-clad crackpot contestants sweating over ridiculously obscure questions in black leather chairs. now that was a real quiz show. anyway, i was at this silly booksale the other day and i found teh official mastermind (two) quizbook for a quarter. naturally i bought it. out of some 800+ questions i knew about 6 answers legitimately. and i only knew about the playboy of the western world/aran island connection cuz i read about it the night before in a linguistics book. i guess i really only knew 5 and a half answers. where was i going with this story? typing this has just made me start wondering how many mastermind contestants were elvis fans. theyy definitely took care of business. yes, they're the boss(es). i wouldn't be at all surprised if more than 60% of all successful contestants were elvis fans. he's the mark of genius. i love elvis. but i'm not a genius.
