Sinister: south african beatsfreak in 'understanding twee' shocker!!!
FB said that when in the virgin megastore on oxford street she read what was written on the "staff review" of "JD" like "satchels and hello kitty a gogo" or similar, and thought it apt. i do too, but thought you might find it amusing that the south-african-ponytailed-boy-who-wrote-it is actually a hardcore madbeats lover who beatmixes for breakfast etc etc and acts like a supercool TAKNO LUVVA (i spelled it like this to emphasise the WACKiness of it all). so that's a little bit funny. i don't think he was being abusive or anything, or sneering, just well-read. and i know kinda cos i work there. but not in singles - in rock. and pop. if anyone ever goes to the HMV in oxford street (sorry to be so londoncentric) you should read with pleasure all the reviews written on the vinyl LPs cos the boy John who writes them is a mad bad Belle fan and very ace too. he got married last week and i DJed his wedding and intended to play all coolstuff but the crowd ended up baying for bloody duran duran etc so there was only time to slip in "Legal Man" before the rot set in. alas. john was the first one to play me a Belle song i didn't hate, and that was "Belle and Sebastian" from the "Dog On Wheels" ep. so there. OH! on the peel session last night when peely read out struan's email and gave "props" to sinister i cheered for joy (well, in disbelief, actually) and my flatmates were furious because up until then they had refused to believe it we/this/it existed. so HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! its hot. but not as hot as sydney summer '95.... aaaaaaaaaaaah.... love to all Brenda ------------------------------------------------------------ . +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
