Sinister: Birthdays
From one Sinister birthday to another one. I think
Hi Fragrant Sinisterines, Long time no speak, hope youre all doing fine, living happy, fulfilled & productive lives. Speaking of which, CONGRATULATIONS to Chris & Vicky on the birth of son Aidan Paisley earlier on today. Apparently Mum & Son are very well, Dad is off getting the name printed on the XXXXXXXS size replica Liverpool FC shirt. that someone well organised like Mighty Ken Chu should post some instructions, plans, timetables, etc. for the 10th Anniversary Sinister Red Pants Day. Just so that everyone knows whats going on. And then maybe people actually intending to attend could please put their hands up and let us all know that they are going to go, so that people travelling from FOREIGN PARTS could be re-assured that it is going to be worth their while making the journey & that they will meet lots of interesting & friendly people. Or just YOU. For a change I am writing this from a beautiful Cornish farmhouse on a lovely sunny day surrounded by green fields & wooded hills with more or less only cats, cows, bluetits, woodpeckers (green & spotted) & buzzards for company. Nice. will i do? of course, modern young persons might like to point their facebooks to: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2555826720 where they will see who is and isn't coming. for those still eschewing the chance to play scrabble with 17 year old canadians rather than actually doing proper work, here is the news: Sinister 10th Birthday Picnic SATURDAY 25th AUGUST Primrose Hill (top of, under those trees, as per) London from 2pm ish bring FOOD and BOUZE and HAPPYS Now, there is mild dissent in the ranks of 12ft lizards about evening plans. We were thinking about having a DISCO with INDIE MUSIC, but the venue we could have got for free is not available SO we'd have to pay to hire somewhere (ie The Betsey), BUT i'm rather afeared that a lot of the people coming will be tootling off once it gets dark, so we'd be left with all having to chip in quite a bit for the hire costs. The other option currently being proposed by myself and a certain Ms F Candarel* formerly of this parish, is just to go to a pub (possibly the spread eagle, maybe even somewhere else), and then let the wonders of Camden on a saturday night provide us with indie with much less hassle (although probably many more records released in the last five years). What do other people think (will x-post this to Other Places)?

O hai! I ate TRIPE for the first time yesterday, am pleased to report that it was very yummy. I recommend the posh restaurant in London's Trendy Chinatown which has a river running through it and some ENORMO fishies. I also tried some chicken feet - they are like a more complicated chicken wing. A bit overrated? Am still fairly HAM FISTED in the use of chopsticks. Must therefore EAT MOAR until I am 1xexpert. Nommy. Sorry, off topic. OK - I shall therefore share the info that WHITE COLLAR BOY by B&S was the SOUNDTRACK to a recent trip to Germany. We sang it whilst wandering the streets! Some might say we were rotten old drunks, and they would be right. Po' boy, po' boy, po' boy, po' boy etc.

When you put it like that, how could we refuse? I am looking forward to this, BIG TIME! I also think that evening plans could take care of themselves, and I am definitely NOT just being lazy and do not want to drag pallet of Long Playing Records across London, up baxenhill, down baxendale, and then drunkenly try to PLAY 'em :) And the Spread is a TRADITION, as any fule kno!

Well done, Mooro, for reminding us about things. I aim to attend, I hope others do also. If you think Mooro's posting from a farmhouse is impressive, how about this - I am actually posting this from home!!! Well, it hasn't sent yet. It is probably costing me a fortune. I have been listening to Lloyd Cole for the last hour and a half while trying to use this computer, which surprisingly managed to be online. I don't understand what Carsmile means, about 17-year-old Canadians; once again I fear for the state of his sexual ethics. I don't think it sounds a good idea to have no idea what to do after the picnic. It would perhaps be a better idea to have some ideas, at least. That reminds me, I saw in the Guide about a disco called Twee as F**k. I don't like using those swearing words, in writing. I wondered what it would be like. I will probably never find out. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Got a little couch potato?
