The other day I was in the car with two friends and TBWTAS came round on one of my car tapes. (I've just thought of that again and imagined a tiny boy avec arab strap sky surfing around the car with a tape as a surfboard. An over-active imagination can get you into into all sorts of trouble y'know.) Back in reality, my friends actually *laughed* at B&S. My first reaction was surprise, then I felt insulted, then the conversion had to be attempted. I suppose getting "hard rock" fans to admit B&S are "alright" is enough of a result, considering. When you're so into the band you don't expect that kind of reaction. Fellow Scots Travis' "Writing to Reach You" has such an utterly beautiful melody for a chorus that it almost warrants the coveted "Belle and Sebastian-esque" accolade.
