What about the amazing clanger : "Destroy the heart she said, I'm gonna bake you a loaf of bread" Keith. Actually : I love the House of Love and don't really care if he's a tosser or not (which he evidently is) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Hmm, I suspect it might be exactly that half-baked ;-), more a case of "very soon we will quite dead". Didn't this crop up in the NME Bismallah (naff lyrics corner) many moons ago? Still, I'm with Keith, they were bloody good in their time, ahhhh remember Brighton Event May 90, or sleeping in a mate's car (mini!) after a show in Guildford, awesome shows both ... oh and course Reading Festival 89 for which I have a great audio tape.. oh dear. no. The b sides album is very very good and quite mellow in parts, you are thinking of the first Fontana album which really did fail to live up to expectations. I still liked it though, hey, I was a student at the time, we all LOOKED like Guy chadwick with those black woolly jumpers and things JJ xxx ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . ***actually, i wasn't: i'm not entirely senile, and can distinguish between albums: the b-sides album (with the dog in shades and copies of lolita, catcher in the rye etc. on the front) was largely dreadful: the fontana album had bad points (the pointless rerecording of the dreadful one whose title i forget but which has the line "i came a cropper when i trusted you"), but was ok: not as good as the first one or the early creation singles, tho. alastair I still liked it though, hey, I was > a student at the time, we all LOOKED like Guy chadwick with those

If this indeed a HOL free for all, then I'd like to add that at least the Butterfly album had "In a Room" on it, a gem and as good as any HOL song I'd say. I have the Peel Session version too (natch ;-))) Hmm, as this list is actually aimed at that other band, see in the NME someone desparately looking for TM. Wonder if he just wanted a tape or the real thing ... -- Stuart ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
