Sinister: thong, th-th-th-thong
I just thought I'd mentioned the NME article on B & S. Incidentally, Radiohead covered "Rhinestone Cowboy" too :) I've been spending a lot of money because I recently gotten my tax return. So lately I've been buying heaps of stuff, because I'm a collector. I collect rare cds, to video games, to dvds, to books, but mostly I collect dusts. vu

BELLE and SEBASTIAN played a rare live show in their native Glasgow last night sprinkling their set with new tracks and unconventional covers. The band, augmented by keyboard player Bill Wells and guitarist Belfast Bob from V Twin, were headlining a benefit for Scottish Socialist party candidate Arlene Nunnery a long-time friend of B&S in order to raise funds to help her run in the upcoming General Election. The show, at the 100 capacity Nice'n'Sleazy's club, sold out before it was formally announced. Aside from new songs given a first airing, which stuck close to the classic B&S formula, the band covered Glen Campbell standard 'Rhinestone Cowboy', the Sex Pistols 'Pretty Vacant', The Zombies 'Time Of The Season' and the Pink Panther movie theme - during which they were joined onstage by a seven foot Pink Panther. Joining B&S on the bill were fellow Scots Teenage Fanclub, Future Pilot AKA and newcomers The Ducks. Teenage Fanclub played four songs, including long recorded B sides never before attempted live, while Future Pilot AKA handed out sweets and Bombay Spice mix during his one song appearance. During the B&S show, guitarist Stevie Jackson emphasised what he felt was the significance of the gig. "This gig is quite important for the Scottish Socialist Party," he said. "They are not inundated with million dollar gifts." The show was compered by Scottish Socialist Party leader Tommy Sheridan _____________________________________________ help d0rK.c0m stay banner free.
