Hey Listerines! It's my second-to-last-day at my hateful job and ***HEY*** I'm as happy as a toad in the hole. Infact I'm the happiest toad in the whole hole! Jobs are pretty much all hateful - I know - but there's something delicious about having a new job, just like nu shooz and grate new albums. Gratest new album (even though it's nigh-on twenty years old) has to be Soft Cell 'Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret'. Bought it last week and it's the dog's whiskers! It even has a song on it called 'sex dwarf' that is *actually* about a sex dwarf. Obviously you knew where you stood in them days. (Yeah - about three feet tall and dressed top to toe in black rubber. Arf!) These days I find everything dead confusing and regularly forget where and how I stand. This is why I subscribe to la list de la Sinistere. I luv my list cos: It's a non-stop stream of stridently uncommon sense in a world that has turned into a pasty tasteless mush. It's oh-so global (hello New Zealand!) yet pushes on all your local buttons (i.e. the buttons in your heart labelled Belle & Sebastian). And it gives us all relief from death-by-spreadsheet at work / death-by-essay at college / death-by-Lara Croft at home and is SO much better than rubbish Fwd jokes and chain letters and often even the telly. And it allows me to impress my friends by talking knowledgeably about (for example) the Magnetic Fields even though I've only heard ONE of their songs. AND it's a wonderful way to make new friends. Hello new friends! ***CONTENT*** There can be no real content because as far as I can see there's nothing really going on, but....... I was looking at the luvverly piccies of Isobel in Select magazine and I thought "Hang on just a minute!" cos all the pics were of the left side of her visage and isn't that a trifle vain a la Mariah "Scary" Carey? But happily I was wrong cos if you look harder there's one of her *right* side too, and that's just as luvverly as the left one, so all is well and I will sleep soundly tonight. ***END OF CONTENT*** Well that's it.
