What a swizz! The British Rock Symphony album only features Daltry on two tracks - "Kashmir" and "Let It Be". No way am I buying that. What's more, Duke will have to time his canal towpath cycle-by very carefully to catch Daltry in action. The other tracks are stuff like "Comfortably Numb". Not a whiff of Hawkwind though. I haven't seen the new edition of T yet, but already confusion clouds my...erm...sky. I seem to recall being told that the Cd would retail at about 7 pounds, and that there wouldn't be any tits on the cover. Did this turn out to be true, or was it another oversight at Jeepster? Speaking of which, I visited the Jeepster website the other day (to see the new artwork) and was greeted by the bizarre legend "Belle and Sebastian because the kids are alright". Have I missed something? Surely if Jeepster must bootleg perfectly good WHO titles they could choose something a bit more appropriate, like "Belle and Sebastian because we won't get fooled again" or "Belle and Sebastian because love ain't for keeping" or "Belle and Sebastian because I'm your Uncle Ernie and I welcome you to Tommy's Holiday Camp". The other day I came across a K Records sampler that came free with an expensive magazine a few years ago. The last track is "Wishing Well" by Glo-Worm, from an album called "Glimmer" (KLP 54). There are no writing credits. Is it you, Pam? The song lasts 1 minute 48 seconds or thereabouts. I quite like "Ally McBeal". I don't think anyone should be proud of their country, in fact I think everyone should emigrate, like a huge international game of musical chairs. My slogan is "PRUSSIANS IN PRESTON!" I'm beginning to get on my own nerves now. I look forward to reading about Tim's triumphal bounceback into the limelight, the most anxiuosly awaited pop resurrection since the Jasmine Minks or Blondie.
