Sinister: New York, I Hope You're Not Going To Bring Me Down
Hi peeps Just wanting some quite info (off-list replies probably would be best) - I'm quite likely to be in New York city for a few days (maybe four?) in mid-October on my way back from Denmark to New Zealand. I'm looking into staying at The Hotel Chelsea. Does that make me a pretentious wanker? I've never been to NY before, and would really appreciate any suggestions as to how to fill a few days. I should point out that my idea of a good day out in a foreign city usually involves cafes, bookstores and a hell of a lot of record shopping, rather than, say, art galleries or museums. I'd be keen on some kind of meetup, if the idea of hanging out with a mildly overweight, 32 New Zealander holds any appeal.
