I'd always thought that Red House Painters (my true favorite band - B&S are tied for second or third) were considered in the shoegazing category. When I was living in Melbourne, a friend of mine said the purple club on Swanston St. (that I can't remember the name of) used to have "Shoegazer Night" every week, and they used to play lots of Slowdive, Red House Painters, Paradise Motel, Bedhead, and Space. And I know there's a band I'm totally forgetting that will kick me in the butt when I send this post... And completely off the subject (just to spice things up), "Kill Uncle" is my favorite Morrissey album. In fact, I have a "Kill Uncle" t-shirt! Bleccch!
