Apparently on the next release of our beloved banned there will be excited 'crowd sounds'. Is this impressive? I heard it from someone on my course (BA Applied Music) who I don't know v. well so it might be a load of ballocks.
No, it's true. Never doubt an Applied Music student. See: http://www.mail-archive.com/sinister@majordomo.net/1999-month-08/msg00145.ht... Tim Gardner Said:
Nick Dastoor asked if Comet Gain had covered "Don't Worry Baby". I referred to my walking encyclopedia of pop, Comet Gain section, at Track & Field on Friday and apparently they haven't. Which is a pity, really.
A couple of kind people emailed me to say that it's actually Melody Dog (featuring Katrina Pastel). Sadly, it's some obscure deleted compilation CD from 1994 called 'We are Icerink'. I think Bob Stanley was involved somewhere along the line. If anyone has a copy and feels like being an angel they could do me a tape/minidisc. Steve C Said:
Can anyone tell me if the new version of "Loneliness..." differs from the various demo versions they've done?
It's fairly different to the two I've heard (Beat Patrol and the one the tape with Rhoda). Doesn't have the organ of the former (am I getting this wrong) or the completely-impossible-to-hear-because-it's-such-fiftythousandth-genration-copy feel of the latter. As mentioned by many, there's whistling. Also, as mentioned by me, there's lovely, perky guitar picking accompaniment, especially on the intro. It stops quite abruptly, but not in a tuneless mess like some live renditions I've heard. Omigod,Nicky D. is so-so that he has two middle names.Middle names are a great mistery to a continental like myself, who obviously lacks of one but instead owns two unconvenient family names who disconcert audiences. I just came back from bribing prospective PhD students and eating enormous quantities of several rubbish as Baby Truffle Galaxy and Paprika Pringles. It is what you do in a current day of your life if you are a cardi-wearing pathetic physicist. No way to be glam. Landslide ,I still believe is a version, and when I go back home for Christmas, I would force my dad to an intensive hypnotising session to get the answer about it,as he is a walking enciclopedya of useless facts and dates about Dusty Springfield, the Shirelles and similar sisterhoods in soul. Someone told me at Bowlie Monica Queen and Isobel are soulmates, girlfriends or whatever you want to call it.High-flying voices skies voices? It is made up, I know. No mentions to any body parts,is there?
