Sinister: more peel session lyrics
Here's an attempt at lyrics for "Nothing in the Silence" and "(My Girl's Got) Miraculous Technique." I was having trouble with "The Magic of a Kind Word," so I didn't bother. NOTHING IN THE SILENCE Something set me thinking When I opened up my eyes That there was nothing there to tell me I'd been listening to lies But in silence there is truth There is beauty, there is love There is nothing in the silence To be frightened of Her retreat in so few words Is the last thing you'd expect But there's danger in assuming That she's being direct Take a look behind her eyes And you will see That she knows nothing of silence Silence can only come from me Allow me then a little time To listen to their voices It's the glamour and confusion It's the rattling and the noises That obscure the truth, the beauty, And the love, And the clarity that silence Is the guardian of She talks of clarity and silence, Of beauty and of truth But such a hurt for evidence Such a [??] for proof Take a look behind her eyes And you will see That she knows nothing of silence Silence can only come from me ------------- (MY GIRL'S GOT) MIRACULOUS TECHNIQUE Oh no, the snow's stopped snowing Maybe we'll get some bowling and drinking in And looking at the sky Pretend that you despise it Why does your lazy eye rest on his skin His arm, and his [??] too CHORUS Take a look around you The spring has sent the sound of rain upon your windowsill So grab your coat and play a song for me Don't think that I've forgotten We've grown up, but I know the reason I want to curl up in your room That's why we're on the late shift Take me, I've made a [??]. I've got my clothes dry-cleaned To commemorate the day REPEAT CHORUS STRINGS AND FLUTE BIT And now my legs are weak, but if I Hear my baby speak then I'll start running She's got miraculous technique If I could be a song, I would be Something that would snake into your room And be with you the whole night long REPEAT CHORUS MORE STRINGS AND FLUTE TO END +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org. Hello everyone. On the session during (My Girl's Got) Miraculous Technique, Stuart actually sings: That's why we're on the late shift JP at Maida Vale. I've got my clothes dry-cleaned To commemorate the day But, during the recent shows he sang it out as "John Peel." Hope this helps......Shawn +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org. Hey Again, Damon I swore this is what I thought the lyric in Miraculous Technique was. My roomate still thinks it is defintely pulling. I'm sort of sitting on the fence. I hope it is pulling though. Either way my roomate keeps requesting I play the song, and he's not even that big of a B&S fan. It's damn catchy. Also, my bad in thinking the entirety of Sexual Athelete was Forster-related. I knew that line about Sherlock Holmes had to refer to him though. I'm more glad it refers to all the key Go-Betweens. They deserve a lovable B&S rap. Felt seem more fitting for something like several notes of a Clientele guitar solo. I'm sorry that I didn't make it to the Sinister NYC picnic. But I keep running into sinisterines everywhere so I didn't feel the urge to head into Manhattan to make an afternoon of it. I swear I've almost run into sinisterines as many times as I've listened to B&S in the last few days. I see them everywhere. On the bus, on the way to the subway, at shows of course, even at the bar my friends and I hang out at. I swear there's one hiding in my laundry, but I'm waiting for him to think I've forgotten about him. Then it's out with the hot pokers. I had a rather B&S moment the other day. Even a specifically Sinister one. I was asked over to someone's apartment for the dubious purpose of watching Don't Look Back. So we listened to Jonathan David and then watched Dylan in the movies. My roomate and I are listening to King Tubby in honor of B&S' new dubby tune. I think we should all do either some drinking and pulling or some drinking and bowling this weekend in tribute. That is all.
