Bonjour les amis ! I know that what I will say sounds silly but... please could you avoid speaking about the new single until I get it by the end of the week. My friend Lauren - who has not yet married Stuart Murdoch - will bring the single from UK in a few days, so please, don't give me a heart attack til I can hear it! That would not be fair at all. As far as the "she and me" problem is on the table, I would like to say that you have to make this clearer for kids like me (I ?), whose english is as bad as an english cheese. Now, listen to me carefully: I've received Alistair's book last week (Young and Foolish). I only had time to have a look on it, because I had to finish the House of Sleep by Jonathan Coe, which is very good book by the way. But it seems to me that Young and Foolish is a FUCKING GREAT BOOK !! Do you want to know my favourite CD of the year ? Frankly, I hope you don't, because I don't like this word "favourite", neither the "year" concept. "Des larmes sur ses joues, et c'est mon coeur qui pleure, Ses lèvres sur ma joue, et je pleure de bonheur" Be happy! </color>Sorry, Philippe, I'd like to but I have to say something. Firstly to all those people who've been saying horrible things abouth 'The Gate' - well, you're all wrong, wrong, wrong! It's the most singalong thing they've ever done by my measurements and that's surely a good thing.. Oh, and the lead track itself, well, what can I say? W!O!W! wouldn't even begin to describe it - a whole page full of W!O!W!s wouldn't either. Imagine the stars in the night sky re-arranged to spell W!O!W! and then times that by 7 to get the effect. 'I Know wher the summer goes' - Hmmn, not bad... 'Slow Graffiti' - As good as ever, but I'm far too used to it to make a judgement now. <color><param>0000,0000,0000</param> And please people, I get enough cultural studies crap on my course, I don't want it taking over sinister like the vile growth it is. As far as I care, It's about art and beauty and truth and if anyone tries to talk to me about countercultures and the dominant social ideology I'll put my fingers in my ears and sing LALALALA until they stop. Got that? Whare was I? Oh yes, philippe also trilled:</color>

Well done, I couldn't have put it better myself. Art's not a competition. But the Pulp album wasn't bad. Be good, WeeJay xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PS - Is this a baaaad translation, Philippe? Philippe, I'd like to but I have to say something. Firstly to all those
Hullo there chiefs! How you all doing? Today I bought some Christmas pressies, and then I bought urrr Modern Jock song....in the tip top Action Records from indie-hair boy. I still don't like him cos he charged me 3.99 for the Melys CD on it's first week of release. Git. But, he did smile nicely today and count out my change like a good boy, and wore a Smiths tshirt (where do they all come from?) which could, or oculd not be a good thing. I don' care... 'Weej' wroted: people who've been saying horrible things abouth > > 'The Gate' - well, you're all wrong, wrong, wrong! It's the most singalong thing they've ever done by my measurements and > that's surely a good thing.. Hahaha! Knickers to that!! By the most singalong, do you mean like knees up mother brown round the old joanna cockney knees up? I mean, has Isobel been listening to Chas and Dave or what!! It's pretty funny, I'll give it that, but....Slow Graffitti....woo! Marvellous! And the most singlalong thing is Loneliness of a Middle Distance Runner. OR OR She's losing it!! NO! You're just a baybee!! OOH! B&S are quite good aren't they...hm, but I've had enough of this CD now, best of Sparks?? YES! ARGH! THE CDS NOT IN THE CASE OH DEAR....oh oh its ok, it was hiding in Kid Loco. Fair enough. The Gate is just silly. They're all on droogs I think.

Yes of course, a very good attitude towards the environment which surrounds you Weejay. Everyone LISTEN to Weej, cos cos he gets cultural studies crap. I admit a load of it's all bollocks isn't it - well in media studies it is, its crackin' - you can get anything to mean anything you want, and I impress people by using the word pluralist a lot. BUT! I reckon here that a lot of it is worth knowing and you should shut up. You're probably only scared of castration. My friend was telling me about Sigmund Frued today. Whatanoldperviepants. What course are you doing Weej? I have applied for all computer studies. It's not what I want to do, but hey. I'd rather end up living in a house, not a cardboard box. I have NO intentions of doing a degree in social antropology or whatever and then ending up working as a walking fish outside Fish Men! Fish With A Difference!! No ta mate. That reminds me - (don't know how...hmmm) Tag, a very nice review you wrote about THE PASTELS!!! HAHAHAH! Your reviewed the Pastels AND reviewed them well you strange bugger....the review is in Uncut magazine, which is a rip off cos it costs 2.85!! Fuck! I didn't buy it, I read it in HMV. And and also congrats on playing the Ace Of Spades at your Dee-Jaying nite. It gets played everywhere round my way so I guess I am unimpressed, but in the more sophisticated environs of Smile, I guess it's like, radical..... Sorry i sound like an arsey get. Booyaka booyaka junglist massif.... Agrh, and Stuart Gardening congratulated the list on it's insult-free-ness. I suggest you look up any of JJ's posts to be proved wrong....and also some of mine. Cos you all are rectum faced pygmies and flatulent bumbrains. And also ILITHIE VLAKA SKATOFATSA GAMIMENE POUTANAS GIE!!!! (Thanks Johnk :) :) ) I'M GOING NOW BYE!!!!!! *Intake of breath* Hello again sinisterines... Not that it's been long or anything. Interesting morning so far - Woke up with a splitting headache which wasn't fair as I stayed in all last night (albeit eating sugar) and stumbled over to the garage to mumble something at the bemused man at the counter. Thankfully he decyphered it and sold me some 'happy shopper' asprins which I attempted to dissolve in some 3-fruit squash. Actually, that quite helped, and I was able to take a reasonable part in our group work for the day - editing together Psycho, Lethal Weapon and Ace Ventura together and then dubbing 'We wish you a merry christmas' over the top. Which answers "What course are you doing Weej?" - Film Studies. Don't know why exactly but hey, it's something creative to do for a few years so I can't complain. Anyway, anyway, anyway:
Hahaha! Knickers to that!! By the most singalong, do you mean like knees up mother brown round the old joanna cockney knees up? I mean, has Isobel been listening to Chas and Dave or what!! It's pretty funny, I'll give it that,
Ha, Sarah, you'll be smited by the B&S gods for not liking 'The Gate' - what, am I in a minority of one here - It's great! Back me up someone! Um, what else...?

nooooo, it's stoopid, stoopid, stoopid! Once you get down that slippery path of ANALYSING EVERYTHING you lose what makes it worthwhile in the first place.
You're probably only scared of castration. My friend was telling me about Sigmund Frued today. Whatanoldperviepants.
Yeah, why is Freud accepted at all? Didn't someone stop for a second and say "Wait a second, these ludicrous theories.... Do you actually have a shread of evidence for them?" Pah! If he was right then everyone who didn't grow up in a normal 2-parent family would be hopelessly twisted and abnormal. And all the really wierd people I know had a two-parent environment.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but what's the point of living your life to pay off a mortgage, say I. Cheeky cow. Come here and say that.I've never insulted anyone in my life. Unless they deserved it. How much did everyone pay for the new EP? You can get it for 1.97 in Music Zone Direct in the Trafford Centre, or walk up to HMV a few shops away and pay 3.99 for it. Could be 3.49 I forget. Anyway for 1.97 you can buy loads and give them to your friends. Which version of Slow Graffiti do people prefer? The EP one is shorter than the Acid House one, well it fades out earlier, and it has an oboe on it. The Acid House one sounds more of a racket. And, of course, on the EP version you can hear Richard farting proudly but firmly as he fidgets on his drum stool. First, if you haven't already, run out and buy a Prefab Sprout record. _Steve McQueen_ is a bit moody, while _Jordan: The Comeback_ is brighter in mood and is almost like a series of intertwining concept-EPs. Second, the real reason for this post. The new album by Eels came out not too long ago, called _Electro-Shock Blues_. An illustration of a tombstone in the booklet, inscribed with "Sing along at home", gives you a fair idea of the tone of the record. Even as E, the band's leader, sometimes gets dangerously close to self-parody and morose self- indulgence here, the witty lyrics and clever arrangements make for a surprisingly touching and oddly humorous album. Eels have a previous album called _Beautiful Freak_. E released 2 albums under his own name, _A Man Called E_ and _Broken Toy Shop_. Both are excellent, but I personally prefer _A Man Called E_. Pure pop with a great deal of class, wit, and sophistication. --Mark __ Burning Rome : SENSELESS CD on Mindfield Records MindCD03 Cathartium 14
