...nice chap that belfast bob. (an odd moniker as he seems to be from glasgow, but hey). he gave us beer on scarborough beach, ahhh! someone mentioned aislers set being very good. and i agreed. i've been listening loads too, and to birdie. who are also GRATE. brenda milton-bradley said about: sigur "gorgeous" ros's vocals - ie: the language of... But i do believe that he's playing silly buggers and making , er, "noises" of no specific language at all. i say: apparently he sings in english, icelandic and, um, gibberish. he has some name for it but basicly yeh he makes it up. spent most of today bored out of my mind at work making bizarre wax things that look like UFOs from crap 50s sci-fi films. still have no idea what they are after 3 days. my friend reviewed the ipswich gig in the local paper [most of which you already know] but she also commented about their Brits success and said: "But were you also aware that keyboard player Chris Geddes studied for his A-Levels at Colchester Institute and formed his first band in his parents' Lawford garage? No, probably not." and she would know, being a friend of the family. apparently her mum was offered a pass for teh after-show 'do' and didn't go!!!! she then bizarrely said: "Unfortunately they..seem to pull in the aren't-we oh!-so-indie-let's all-talk-about-the-ethics-of-pop-music t-shirt brigade" i presume that includes us then. i'll have to have a word about that. ALso i just remembered a story Struan told that i think chris hasn't mentioned. something about Struan disliking Brighton because while living in london he went there on a SUNDAY NIGHT to buy a motorbike, so he could get back to Scotland, and not being able to find one......yes, seemed a bit odd to me too. bye bye stuart ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
