Sinister: We're all just a fixin to DIE!!!
The visitors at my funeral will hear a little ditty called "funeral home" by Daniel Johnston, the lyrics of which are.... "Funeral Home, Funeral Home, I'm going to the Funeral Home, Got me a coffin, Shiny and black, Yeah, I'm going to the Funeral and I'm never coming back" ... And it is actually recorded at someone's funeral. In the end he asks people to sing along and you can here this couple in the foreground complaining at how distasteful it is, BRILLIANT. But then now that I think of it maybe "Fixing a hole" would be the guff.(for Burials only), Anyway, it's starting to get friggin cold down here at the bottom of the Globe and there ain't a single Belle and Sebastian Gig to keep us warm (and you can be sure the single will take a few extra weeks to make it to the shops here). There has been cause for celebration in these parts though as the "Rad" (very short films that are played in the ad breaks on telly here in New Zealand) is officially finished, dubbed to Beta Tape and delivered to *The Network*. It is called "Miss Western Suburbs" and it is a tale, told with plastic toys, of a girl that won a beauty pageant, and a boy who won a Mitsubishi Lancer in a TV show called "Beach Shack Bingo" ,both in 1985. And their subsequent, and rapid descent from these dizzying heights to the point were we find them, as overweight lushes eating TV dinners in front of a TV that is inviting applications for "Brand New Space Bingo". It is not on the net yet but it will be eventually at <http://radz.co.nz/> (though there is a selection of past efforts) +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
