the subject line has no relation to anything but I think it would be mildy amusing to point out that my goth friend who loves Marylin Manson and Korn loooves Bis too! heehee, now *thats* only funny if you're bored..... Bis cross the industrial goth market... :o) I think it was a Kate who wrote that B&S were doing this.... <<because they're sitting in the playground eating sweets pinched from woolies?>> um, no actually that was kind of *me* today except that we (not B&S me and mes amis) were sat around the piano in our colegios main hall thingy whatjemcallit. I heartily recommend to all you lovely listees the orange fudge, but as for the Turkish Delights and those <<coconut???>> things, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Mon dieu they are absloutely degoutant. Anyway, I have a question thing to ask. Its seems to me that most people on this list are either 'indiepoppers' with an immense knowledge of Field Mice and love loads of other bands in the B&S genre, or (like moi) are rockypoppy rockers who like Manics and Suede and B&S have struck a very jangly chord with, but are very different to your usual tunes.....very sweeping statement there but amongst the majority of personnes sur cet liste it has seemed to bear out...... :o) So, can anyone confirm or deny this stereotype? Oh go on I've ben doing stereotypes in media studies and think this would be a nice thing to have a heated debate upon. (Other than a nice afghan sofa) I'M GOING NOW BYE!!!!!!! Hi all! Just thought i'd take the opportunity to offer my thoughts on the song Judy and the dream of horses: Personally, i think it is a story about Judy, who was a genuine rebel. She was a nymph, and she asked the writer for sex....he bottled out and asked her to think about the dream she once told him - about having sex with horses. Why he suggested this to her is because the horse would be the only thing to satisfy her - as she was a teenage rebel. Spaced out? You betcha. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . This message was brought to you by the Sinister mailing list. . I have a maverick idea about what this song might be about - it sounds crazy i know but maybe it could be about a girl called judy who has a dream about horses and writes a song about it................................................................... .............................................? Sorry to shatter your illusions! I like Marylin Manson, Bis and Belle & Sebastian. I also like cornershop The Divine Comedy and Urusei Yatsura (hello tiger:-), On a slightly different note I am starting a alternative Rock show on my uni's student radio, Purple FM. You can only pick it up near Durham UK. I woundered which tracks people would suggest to get metal heads hooked on good old B&S. I thought Pastiche De La Bourgouise. Any sugestions? I think this may be true, to a certain extent. Everyone's going to come out with "oooh, no, i'm much more eclectic, look at these records I've got..." etc etc, but the way this list reads sometimes, i think there probably are (at least) two differing sources of B&S fan. Wotta lotta tosh, I hear you all cry. Personally, I have an thorough grounding in the Field Mice an all things Sarah, have liked the Pastels from an early age, and wouldn't even have the Manics or Suede in the house. Oh, and I'm a rabid Fall fan, and run the Half Man Half Biscuit website...where do they fit in? were you ever on fallnet ? your name looks vaguely familiar... a top chat forum that alas i have been unable to subscribe to this term, for some curious reason . i quickly learnt to filter through those messages on a basis of who had written them, not what they were about; sorry, this is rather saaaaad 'nd irrelevant... but i have been dying to somehow mention the fall in all the time i've been on this mailing list... i have done now!
Erk, I'll go now.
