I realise hindsight is a great thing, but I'm sure this could have been saved had Stuart ripped off those silver pants, Isobelle pulled on a wig and, after giving each other one of those looks they'd been practising at the concerts, broke into "Especially for you". There isn't a heart that isn't melted by the tender beauty of that song. Still, they're a young team and this can only be good experience for them. Kiddie books: I can recommend Swallows and Amazons. I read it again just last year and its pretty damn good. Don't think there's any religious stuff. There is a hell of a lot of smut though (I don't remember the orgy bit from the first time round).

Tomorrow I must be at a party dressed as a literary character and I have minimal costume ingredients. Who can I be? Lady Godiva?

when you get up close to it snow is rarely floaty or cherry-blossom like at all, but dirty and wet It's only street snow that is wet and dirty. Alpine snow would be great. Just picture it, rushing out of a log cabin, or perhaps even one of those outside hot-tub things, into a big pile of snow and getting sinister (leaving the log cabin door open, of course, so you can still hear Rossini...).

and - shock horror - pretty damn cold too. You could always keep your socks on.
