c'mon people, cool it on the strokes already - what did they ever do to you anyway? i spent some time with the guys when they were in london and all five of them are just sweet, unassuming, YOUNG talented musicians who are incredibly surprised at all the press and crap that came their way in the uk. they didn't ask to be on the cover of every half-assed style rag in town. and they didn't make people pay £150 (or whatever it was) at to see their brief sweaty set at the heaven club. and the crowd were all wanky scensters and fashionistas who COULDN'T MOSH TO SAVE THEMSELVES, too. grr! i went for a 'wee' at the same time as meg matthews too. but she didn't offer me any 'blow'. phew. but back on track - don't slag bands off when it's your own fault if you believe everything you read in the first place. of course their short debut album isn't the greatest thing since _________ (you decide). but it ain't terrorvision either. personally i love julian's melancholy boom, i think the bass is amazing and that foxy fabricio is the cutest thing in pants EVER...
