Sinister: Stuart M request, guaranteed no Columbo content
Following from Stuart Murdoch, presumably vitally important for one of songs from the new LP... another "go lardy or go lame" song then. Here's a vote for an entirely food-based Belle and Sebastian LP. Can I also ask for an explanation over booths/cubicles/kiosks? I've always wondered what the difference is. Important stuff. Honey ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Dear Paul I wonder if you could post this up on your site. We are trying to contact the person who sent us the dress and the embroidered card at the turn of the year. It fits Isobel very well and I think she wants to thank you. Also, the fellow who sent us the Belle Et Sebastiane ep record from France. We have something for you but I've neglectfully lost your address. A couple of other things. When we are locked in the studio together a topic is sometimes raised that takes on greater and greater importance the more we argue about it. Could you tell us your views on these simple matters? *What makes a biscuit a biscuit and a bar a bar? For example, Twix, biscuit or bar? 5,4,3,2,1 bar or biscuit? Which treat surfs the elusive dividing line the best? and also *Who is the most famous living person? Lastly, thanks Keith Watson for answering some of the new mailers so nicely. a booth should by rights be any enclosed seating area; think a bench with walls that can only be approached from one side and requires the requisite amount of "sliding into". ahem. a cubicle fought hard for distinction to be a desk area complete with swivel-action chair (and accompanying kung-fu grips) found in environments more commonly known as "office"; this too is flanked by walls of sorts on three sides, has an open top for the tall gits of this world. a kiosk is an enclosed vestibule which dispenses of communist propaganda such as "time" and "life", and other pamphlets, magazines--even bars and biscuits. Or, may be any structure (usually cylindrical) which dispenses information of any kind.
*What makes a biscuit a biscuit and a bar a bar? For example, Twix, biscuit or bar? 5,4,3,2,1 bar or biscuit? Which treat surfs the elusive dividing line the best?
Biscuits are round cookies. Bars are nefarious places of ill-repute which serve the demon alky-hol (badum boom!). Uhm. Biscuits must be round or they are penalized. Bars are straight and narrow thingees. With stuff. and things. I hope this clears it up.
*Who is the most famous living person?
Dead easy. I'll not fall for this trick question: Ernest Borgnine. There. Ha. Biscuits are not necessarily round; Nice (not nice) biscuits certainly are never round. Re cubicles etc...Has anybody else ever come across carrells?, which are what we had at our school? You wouldn't want to have a shower in a street kiosk. Even if there wasn't a PE teacher watching. (Hooray! Two threads seemlessly linked to form one!)
*What makes a biscuit a biscuit and a bar a bar? For example, Twix, biscuit or bar? 5,4,3,2,1 bar or biscuit? Which treat surfs the elusive dividing line the best?
A biscuit is crunchy, a bar is chewy. So, Twix = biscuit; Mars = bar; 5,4,3,2,1 = crap old TV show.
