So: Mark Eitzel, Ian Broudie, some bloke from Travis, and ermm...Ben Folds. They're taking rock aristocracy by storm.

i think it's great that heaps of people are discovering B&S. but really - - does it matter who they are? does it make it any better (or worse) that 'famous' or well known people like them.. does that make the band better?
shelley
No, of course not - I was just being daft. And to be honest, none of those people really mean much to me anyway. I don't really take much heed of pop stars' opinions about other bands. God forbid that Morrissey should ever namecheck them. Mind you, if someone totally unexpected, like.... Wu-Tang Clan or Dionne Warwick started singing their praises then it would be quite exciting. You're right there: didn't Morrissey use to make a habit of namechecking all sorts of bands, all of which then vanished without trace, like bradford (best-known moment: skin storm)? the only band who ever had any real popularity post-mozzplug were the primitives (ah!) who still went down the dumper after a year or two. still, those were the days when people took any notice of the man: nobody bothers now, and i can't really say i blame them - he hasn't done anything worthwhile for ages now. but do you remember any of the other bands he memtioned? (no b&s mention: sorry!) alastair
