Hello all. I am quite new to this whole thing and I am already feeling a little bit awkward. I am from America, a country that has no idea about Belle and Sebastian, and there aren't too many people other than my friends who listen to B&S and love them as much as us. Does anyone know any information about B&S doing an American tour? ellen ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Actually, America does know about B&S. I live in Canada, but much of the info I've found out about B&S has been thrgouh U.S. publications like CMJ Weekly, Magnet, and Puncture. IYFS was released in the U.S. by the Enclave, but then the label quickly folded. I believe BMG, the Enclave's mother, is still distributing the copies of IYFS to magazines and radio stations. I have yet to see the cd in stores, so I don't know what exactly is being done with the copies of the album. -------------------------------- STEREO-TYPE RECORDS -------------------------------- Ensign "Take Care" (cass) $3 Various Victoria Artists "Surrender To The Garden City" (cass + booklet) $5 Dead Stars "Cancer Moon" (cass) $4 Snailhouse/Julie Doiron (7") Coming Soon Run Chico Run (7") Coming Soon -------------------------------- -------------------------------- On Wed, 17 Dec 1997, Ripoffs wrote:

(1) I am an American B&S fan, albeit a recent addition to the ranks. Though I have seen references in the musical press, I don't personally know anyone else who listens. I came to them through suggestions on the Tindersticks mailing list, which also has several American members (though nothing resembling a majority, I don't think), so several people at least know *of* them. (2) I have seen IYFS in at least 4 record stores around Boston, and I know that the copies have recently arrived....perhaps they've just been hanging out in warehouses and that doesn't have anything to do with The Enclave label. Kinda just wanted to introduce myself as a newcomer. Despite the band's ill opinion of the Sessions at West 54th show, I'm really looking forward to seeing them on TV on 27 December. ______________________________________ John M.
