sigh...my fulltime summer job begins on july 10...no nyc picnic fr me. methinks i shall organize some sort of suare'. (did i even come remotely close to spelling that? i feel somewhat guilty seeing that my girlfriend calls me the chief of grammar police) are there any serge gainsbourg fans here? im a tad surprised i've heard nothing of mr g on the list since my arrival into the nursery. also...i remember what i wanted to ask in my last post. could any fans of felt drop some advice on a "beginner's guide", i.e. a good album of theirs to start with. i'm terribly intrigued from all i hear about this band. i've also been on a quest for the first orange juice record...i had a feeling i'd have to resort to traveling to ther music in nyc for it, but that's a post drift... has anyone else felt like their summer is taking on an incredibly unusual mood? perhaps it's just the fact that now that i am 17 things are really changing...i'm taking lessons with a driving instructor and starting the miasma of college searching and future-planning...it seems as though the summer isn't...fun anymore. well, because of such, i've been recording songs on my stereo/karaoke-war-machine using lots of toy instruments, a casio sampling keyboard (incredibly prehistoric) and a tushload of field recordings... a lot of it is reminiscent of beck's old 4-track tapes (golden feelings, fresh meat & old slabs) and smog's julius caesar LP (which i recommend to everyone...bedroom recordings at their best.) nothing revelatory, just silly lil songs from a silly lil boy. if anyone would like a copy of my silly tapes to listen to on a rainy day, send me yr address and i will give you a copy. ok. i hope you are all ok... aloha, mike j adrock@netrom.com **ape shall never kill ape** +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
