I think that the best thing B & S could do is release a series of ultra - collectable limited edition 7" singles on a singles club label. The band could even do the artwork themselves; I mean, they could hand - paint the sleeves, or whatever. Things like this generate huge amounts of publicity, especially if the band is already fairly well - known and has a good fanbase, like B & S. Oh, and Neil, I take offence when you say that all Manics and Smiths fans are filled with rage. Or that if you are filled with rage then you must like the Manics or the Smiths. Or whatever. Basically, a highly ignorant thing to say. Go and listen to some MSP and you'll feel very chilled out. Honest. Tigermilk... should not be re-released. Let it stay collectable. Where is this Smile night in Manchester?? I would literally fall over if I ever heard even one B & S song being played in a night. But then again, I usually do fall over when I go out. Does anyone here actually come from Manchester, like me?? Just wondering. And wandering. See ya later, Chris. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Even if it is re-released, the originals will still be collectable (original Beatles stuff is collectable, and there are far more of them around); so you'll still be able to sell your copy for lots of money should you ever want to, and those of us who are more interested in listening to great music than anything else can have our own CD copies. The sooner the better. Stuart G P.S. What ever happened to the Ink Polaroids competition? Did anyone win? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . You, sir, are a complete arse. Do you have Tigermilk and not want anyone else to have it? This can only be the case; if you DON'T have Tigermilk but still don't want it rereleased so you can hear it then you are a pillock. Why should it 'stay collectable' ? So people have to pay upwards of 100 quid for it? Or rely on their copy of a copy of a copy of a cassette? Me, I want it (officially) on CD. I want EVERYONE to hear it. The songs on it stand up with their current songs, if they didn't why would they still play them live? OK it might come out after their next 'proper' album, fair enough, but it should come out. I would like to think the band themselves wouldn't want people to pay over the odds for a record which they could quite easily stick out again and even make a bit of money on.. What exactly ARE your reasons for not wanting it rereleased? STOP flaming and be friendly or be removed. The magic of this list is the community it supports: you may disagree violently on an issue like this but respect others opinions. I'm not seeing this list descend into petty wars and die an untimely death like others I've been on. This isnt just aimed at JJ :) Oh and to do my part I will apologise to the Lemur man. The lemurs gave way to a bit more B&S on his pages later on so sorry for the knee-jerk reaction. I've still got an awful cold though :) Paul mailto:owner-sinister@majordomo.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Nonsense
The band could even do the artwork themselves; I mean, they could hand - paint the sleeves, or whatever.
Oh how sweet
Tigermilk... should not be re-released. Let it stay collectable.
Please explain why precisely. If you have a copy, presumably you want to keep it expensive so that when they get too popular to be smug about liking them you can sell them to some hapless Japanese tourist for some over-inflated price. If you don't, then you are simply mad.
Where is this Smile night in Manchester??
It's a place where pop fans go to share their love of ace records. SHARE, comprendez? Look Chris I'm sure you're a sweet guy and all, but please don't be so precious. To decree that 'Tigermilk' should only be available to the select few is nothing more than snobbery. Let me tell you the story of the record fair this weekend, I played host to two Northern Soul fans front Sweden this weekend. Their love for this music was unquestionable. Music that, may I remind you, was made at least 25 years ago...Let's just imagine a gang of Belle and Sebastian fans in 30 years time (not difficult, this is timeless music). So in your Stalinist pop regime, these enthusiastic pop kids would never be able to find the music they truly love or else play 1000's of pounds for the privilege. What you suggest denies a new generation of people from buying something that makes them feel good, just through accident of time and place of birth. I saw 50 year old Northern Soul officianados with big smiles on their faces, just because 20 year olds had come miles to celebrate the music they loved. Much nicer than a clique, don't you think.. repent of your sins Chris and I'll tell you where Smile is...you know it makes sense. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
