Re: Sinister: WILCO dilemma!:) (not B&S related) and anticipated movies:)
Kin Woo asked: << which is better: "Being There" or "Summer Teeth"? >> If you like music the way you say you do (heartbreakingly beautiful and sincere) then Being There is right up your alley. Most of it is acoustic dirges and pedal steel lullabyes that are complemented so beautifully by Jeff Tweedy's soothing voice that it almost kills you. Its not so country as its been labeled. Its sort of the borderline between early Stones and Woody Guthrie, with more of the former than the latter. Summerteeth is more racous and Beach Boys-ish, but its great as well. Its not as personal or affecting at BT, but if you like rock more than gentle pop you'll like it. Its got alot more synths and screaming and moogs. Personally I recommend Being There. Its not that Summerteeth is a bad album, but when you try to follow up a contemporary classic anything you do will pale in comparison. Well, I hope this helped more than confused and that you enjoy whichever you choose...later Steve C. +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
