Howdy folks, It's been a while since I last posted, nothing much to say or to tell you I suppose. I'll cut to the chase: I want your reviews of the gigs. I've added a new section on www.belleandsebastian.freeserve.co.uk specifically for gig reviews, (past or present), and I need your contributions. I've set the ball rolling by putting in the (Glasgow) Herald's favourable review of the Dunoon gig, (did they really play Smooth Operator?). Go to the site, click on Interviews and select the Gig Reviews link to read it, and for instructions on how to send me your reviews. Don't be shy now, if you're lucky enough to be going to a gig, then be good enough to share it (or at least your opinions of it) with the rest of the world. I'm not going to any shows myself, I'm boycotting them on account of all of them being over 25 miles away from where I live and my reluctance to rely on late night trains, and I suppose cos I'm skint if I'm being honest. I still haven't heard Jonathan David, I'm assuming Mark Radcliffe will have played it at some point but since Radio 1 saw fit to shift him an hour earlier, I always forget to listen to his show, and I don't listen to John Peel although I'll be making an exception next Tuesday (19th) when B&S do their session, it is Tuesday isn't it? Apparently the party I voted for won the election, the Apathy party polled over 40% of the vote without even trying. Why can't you vote on the internet yet, is it any wonder nobody votes when you have to walk 3 miles to the local polling station? Or even bring the polling stations round the streets like the ice cream vans. Apparently some wise guy voter went into the polling station and instead of crossing the boxes wrote Wank, Wank, good Guy, Wank instead. Very amusing in a Chewin' The Fat kind of way. 15 minutes passes quickly when you're talking pish...
