Young ones, Toodled down to the ol' 9:30 club tonite for a bit of yer Motorhead, plus special guests Hatebreed, Nothingface, Loathesome Cancer, Stroke-on-Trent, and Bile. Shock to find all but Motorhead had canceled, but bigger shock to see Looper as the replacement! "I love their electronic pig fuck and wot not," I overheard Lenny tell some slightly addled fans. Can't say I've heard the Looper album, but they won the crowd over with sheer perseverance, gallantly referring to their album as "Cup O'Pee" in deference to the peverse leanings of Motorhead fans. Is the new album really called "Cow's Cunt"? Irony is hard to grasp over the tractor rumble of Lemmy's bass (yes, he joined Looper on several songs). Looper's new (?) song about Lemmy's white cowboy boots had quite a few in the crowd talking excitedly; it was quite good. When Lemmy took off one of said boots and whacked Mick in the face with it, it seemed to be more of a loving gesture more than anything. Needless to say, everyone flipped when Wee Karn pranced around in a chainmail bikini and the led the crowd in a chant of "wart removal is for pussies." Lemmy seemed to sniffle, I swear. Well, Motorhead weren't bad.
