Anyway, while we were getting our tickets, the girl on the front of Dog On Wheels was standing at the desk. I got really excited about this, but I don't think bethey was so thrilled. Anyway, it looked like Katrina might look (in my mind). Am I getting really sad now? I have to visualise everyone that I see. Anyway, that could be what Katrina looks like.
Ummm, i don't remember Jo (coverstar of Dog On Wheels and Tigermilk) being at the gig, let alone being on the front desk, but i was on the door for a bit handing out ice-creams, so it must have been me ... sorry if i didn't say hello ... :) I've only ever met Jo once (brief encounter on the Central Line) but i spose people could say we look kind of similar ... my hair is dyed and i've got a smaller nose though!
Haha, big Tigermilk Katrina mix up escapade, you didn't get your clothes off for Tigermilk now did you Katrina!
That's actually quite remarkable Jon that you imagined Katrina to be exactly the way she is - most people get completely wrong impressions about what people are going to look like before they see their picture/meet them.
Anyway, just in case you were wondering, there is another 15 year old on
Well, Katrina seems quite efficient, so she'd have short hair, for a start. I don't know what else. It doesn't always work out that well. For me, people called Keith always have moustaches. Do you? Katrina - were you wearing a dress - it might have been purple. Anyway, bethey didn't think it was Jo. And don't worry if you didn't say hello - you can next time (I'm really excited that everyone is going to know who we are - unless loads of kids get into B&S, of course). This email is going to be a nightmare to send - the spellchecker always wants to change Katrina to Quatrain for some funny reason. Katrina (House) also wrote: the
list. Her name is Katrina also - alkl6163@emirates.net.ae . aaarrghhh! quick, someone come up with an alias for one of us, please!!
She was the one I was talking about when I said that you were too important to have two Katrinas. Her name could be Lulu or Katie or something of that nature. I haven't heard from her in ages, actually. Katie-dear, if you're there, drop me a line! I don't think Rod's idea of having Sp~c# G$rl names would really work (you'll notice I didn't swear like Rod did). It would be depressing to be reminded of the real world with that lot in. I'm also quite touched with this: -----Original Message----- From: Euan Leitch <euan.leitch@virgin.net> To: sinister@majordomo.net <sinister@majordomo.net> Date: 31 March 1998 18:43 Subject: Sinister: something un-asked (he hopes)
i couldn't agree more with what mr nick says about jon & bethey. i went to your website yesterday and i'm still reeling from how lovely you both are. if wee-ness is the key, i want to be mike tv.
I'm working on a brand new site at the moment - like the old one, only different, if you know what I mean. You should be excited. The 'Under Construction' page for Jeepster is also fab. I can't remember where it is, but there is a really fabulous image summing up Jeepster at the start. I don't know if anyone will understand that one. bethey might post later - when she's finished her homework! I'm revising at the moment you see - nothing proper to do. jon g. jon.g@btinternet.com - http://www.btinternet.com/~jon.g/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . First up... apologies for previous post to list. It was meant to go to Bethey privately, but I've been here for 9 hours now, and I've written 3000 words on adapting Information System Design methodologies for the World Wide Web, and my brain hurts, and I'm going to answer this then go home an play Worms 2 all night. Anyway... On Tue, 31 Mar 1998, jon g. wrote:

This is interesting, cause the reason I was down in INGERLAND over the weekend was to meat up with some people from uk.misc . It was only the fourth time I've met people off the net, and was very strange meeting people who I've talked to for over a year, but never met. Lots of mental images totally shattered.

Speelchucking sucks. Let it all hang out, that's what I say.

In my considered opinion, da Spiceys ROOL! I will limit my usual 4 page diatribe on what's so great about them, cause I don't think it's overly on-topic for the list (unlike everything else I post, natch). But... They are the first proper all-girl P!O!P! band since Bananarama. For too long, girls have had the monopoly on Take That, NKOTB, Bros, etc. It's about time boys got something to pin up on their walls. They have produced one of the best P!O!P! albums of the decade. Fact. Since BoyzOnE last churned out a long-player or dreepy ballads, the fabbest five since TT have produced *2* (count'em) albums of wonderfully uplifting choons. And "Girl Power" is probably the best piece of marketing in POP! history. Simon Fuller deserves a knighthood for that one. Anyway, this rant continues below, cause then I read the message from Jon G which said:
bethey is precisely right. We are, in fact, anti-cool. We like to wear second hand flares in front of all of the cool people in their DKNY puffa-hotpants.
You don't realise until you're older, but having your own style and not following the "cool" people inversely makes you cool in the eyes of other similar outcasts. <self depreciating gag> either that or you're just a total geek </sdg>
We like to stay in and listen to records rather than go out, drink half a bottle of vodka and get off with the nearest member of any sex.
Vodka?? Bloody hell, they're rich around your bit. The 15-year-olds here are always after "Ol' Gutrot's Improbably Strong Scrumpy", price 45p for 2l from the nearest paki shop.
We like music that has never got in the top ten.
Ok, this next bit isn't having a go at you, but is testing the water for another of my "outrageous opinions": It matters not how good a piece of music is. It is what is reminds you off that makes you like it. While you may deride people who think that "Angels" is a sensitive song, while you prefer "We Rule The School", that is in no way a sign of shallowness on their part. The fact remains that there is a beautiful piece of music that makes them feel all snuggly inside. And that will affect them for the rest of their lives. My love of great female-voiced POP! could come from the fact that something great happened to me whilst listening to The Reynolds Girls' "We'd Rather Jack", and when I hear something like "Ooh Aah Just A Little Bit" it takes me back to that. Or perhaps this is all crap, and I'm just a freakshow.
Oh, yeah, me and bethey have a soul rather than melodrama and we also have compassion rather than involuntary charity.
Not me, I'm afraid.. "Superficial" would be my middle name, if it wasn't for the fact that it's already "Alexander". Not something to be proud of, but true nonetheless. Jeez, this was a long one. 4 days til the Spice Girls concert... Rod.
