Okay - here you go.... How's this for making a total arse of yourself..... I was on a tour that the Foo Fighters were on, Dave Grohl is a HUGE Led Zeppelin fan. He knew a friend of mine and this friend was going to be there on the next stop of the tour. So I am hanging around with him and Pat Smear (this is JUST before he left the Foo's). We get to the site the next day and Dave goes to the guy in charge of backstage passes to get one for my friend so that he can see her. He really likes her. The guy tells him no, that there are only so many issued and due to tight security they won't hand anymore out. Dave then says: "Not even for Jimmy Page's daughter!?!" Said guy in charge promptly turned around and gave him a pass. We're walking away and I ask Dave who 'Jimmy Page' is. He literally fell over laughing. As I am sure you all are. I had met her dad and been to their house twice!!! I had no idea he was anyone other than her dad..... So, there I am trying to be the cool 'music photographer' and Dave Grohl name drops on ME - and I end up making a TOTAL arse of myself. How do you like them apples? See, even I have a sense of humor. So, you can all just step aside with your famous neighbors and the like. I met the man, had NO idea who he was - my friend had never mentioned it and since I do not require my friends to have famous parents, how the hell was I supposed to know. Talk about a humbling moment..... Just thought that story would make you all laugh at me... as much as I laugh at myself for it!
