Where is the source that says that Stuart M is into CS Lewis? It would be interesting to know his (religous) perspective. CS Lewis seemed to be the type of author who the reader could totally disagree with but still come off as an excellent work. The Screw Tape Letters might demonstrate his fervent belief in Envangelical Christianity and the role of Satan as temptor. It's a great novel because even if you don't believe in such an entity, you can view it as a paradigm describing one's evil inclinations, and a system of resisting them (i.e. religion). It's interesting to note here a huge difference between Judaism and Christianity. In Judaism, Satan is actually an angel of G-d who performs a specific task (sometimes) of presenting options antithetical to G-d's will (i.e. tempting one's evil inclinations). Also, in judaism man is viewed as inherently good (as opposed to so wretchedly sinful that one is separated from G-d), albeit with free will subject to evil inclinations.
