Ethan Sincoff wrote: however, I must say that I was listening to sinister the other night, while perhaps not in the right "chemical frame of mind" What a groovy way to chill on a rainy night ! Can anyone else share any possible drug experience stories regarding B&S?? Shamefaced though I am to admit it, I know what you mean. Obviously, it's neither big nor clever, but (a) they sound fantastic if you've, um, had a smoke: obviously so do most things, but there's something about the human warmth of B&S that really comes across if you're in a more, uh, malleable frame of mind. That's actually how I formed a sort of bond with B&S records, listening to them after I got back from clubbing. There's something about them that fits perfectly with that scenario, when you're alone and awake and it's that really hushed time outside about 4-5am. The sort of resigned sadness in something like Judy And The Dream Of Horses really seeps through, and the music's just perfect, really warm sounding... you do tend to be terribly receptive to emotional music in those circumstances. Anyway, their music sounds comforting and lovely. And I suppose that's why they sound good on drugs. Mick McMick wrote: Maybe they're referring to "Electronic Renaissance"? Idunno about a version, but it's certainly very dancey, in addition to being lovely. Nah, it can't be that. I agree that's a beautiful record, but I want a proper banging cheesy house version of 'The Boy With The Arab Strap'. With a rave "diva" hollering out the words: "THA MAN WHO DRI-I-I-I-VES MINICA-A-A-A-BS DAHN IN OL' COMPTON! THE AY-JUN MA-A-A-N!" etc etc. I think that would be nicer than winning a Brit. On my stereo: 'Frozen Warnings' by Nico. It's a laugh a minute here at Petridis Towers. And thanks awfully to that American girl who said the phrase "life pisses in my soup once more" made her day. That's v. sweet. Am I going about contributing to this list in the right way, by the way? Most other new contributors seem to have posted an introductory thing about who they are, and all I've done is bang on about Felt...
