hello everyone, the lovely ssharp discovered the true reason for my brief sojourn in scotland - to further my fledgeling thespian career ~ so props to him. i haven't actually seen my screen appearance, so any more info about what i allegedly do and say (from any of you scottish listees) would be more than appreciated. i've just got loads of stuff about fresher's week at cambridge. it all seems to be about competitions where whoever imbibes the most alcohol/ caffeine and acts in a general all round prickish manner is the winner. and it also looks a hell of a lot more public school than i was hoping it would be - none of the photos of people look even vaguely indie... and i'm scared. i'll probably end up spending the whole of fresher's week curled up in the corner of my room sucking my thumb and listening to the delgados (who i've just discovered and who i think are monstrously wonderful - can't wait to see them at bowlie...). my bedroom, i have discovered, is right above the college bar, however, so maybe not... um, i got a letter from geneva today (the band, not the swiss city) and they're playing a gig at the water rats, king's cross, london, on the 21st of september where they'll be showcasing new material. and you can get free tickets (only 2 each, i'm afraid) by e-mailing jamx@easynet.co.uk and asking for them (remember to give them an address). see you all there (i hope). ...but i'll see you all on SATURDAY THE FOURTH OF SEPTEMBER at primrose hill, to celebrate... i dunno, something. and to mourn the passing of the last summer of love of the century, and to drink a toast (or two, or three, or forty five if you're name's drunken matt) to a winter of love rather than of discontent. if your mummy doesn't want to let you go, sneak out of the house under the pretence of going shopping for back-to-school stuff... um, i'm a bit crap at writing at the moment, because i'm two thousand miles from the person i want to be with most, but i won't bore you all with all that, and i'll just apologise for not being even vaguely witty today... so until saturday, love Marcus XXX ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
